pierre png's full name is nice
Friday, May 06, 2011 i know its cooling off day...but let me say my piece before 7may!!! if halfway it doesnt make sense to you, then just scroll along la. disclaimer: votes are secrets. but i am in tanjong pajar area and not eligible for voting so...no point keeping my vote secret! all these debates and smearing and noisy 'ice-cream' trucks in the morning have taken over our headlines, our coffeeshop talk, our lives. (ok, i dont get the trucks blasting every morning or the posters tied to lamposts...its rather peaceful here) its interesting to hear and see how people are reacting to what the PAP and the other parties have to say. some points i stand in agreement, but others are just plain stupid. i dont follow election news religiously but hopefully the tip of the situation to make a sensible vote should i have needed to cast my vote. its really ridiculous to hear how some can slam the government for floods, for a cunning crook escaping, for increasing prices of commodities and transport. its a natural occurrence and who the heck is going to test if drains clog? the guy soo cunning and the fact that he's been caught again should put this issue to a rest? someone has already admitted and took the blame. dont tell me you will do the same if you were in his shoes. raising prices is not just happening in singapore. just be glad cab fares are not mad high like overseas. crowded trains? train frequencies have already been increased...you got better idea? build a fatter train? then people will complain that government waste tax payers' money and disrupt train services that cause them to wait aimlessly in the heat to board small and slow moving buses. do you think your contesting party can solve these problems? or come out with a better solution? i admit that i stand on the side of 'housing is too pricey'. to fund a wedding, to get a house and do up the renovations will suck the life out of our bank accounts and piggy banks. overspending of budget could have been curbed. and sometimes presenting bias views, and making statements that cause citizens to go "what?!? where got MP say stuff like that!?!?" but where would singapore be without the current government? for the individuals who have stood and laid their lives for singapore and singaporeans, i think they deserve some respect and some votes. truth: i refuse to watch a nicole seah video. and a tin pei ling video. (i didnt even know tin pei ling likes kate spade until today can) truth: i was veering to the side of WP at a certain strongly contested area. but looking at the efforts and all the blood and sweat poured from the PAP minister. i stand corrected. my vote will go to him. (run for president? i like mr nathan still) met him once, briefly though, but the words to his supporters were heartfelt and he really placed himself among the people and even exploring social media to reach the younger generation. for all his contributions, sorry WP candidate, contest at another area can? dear said something sensible, live within your means. for example: if you dont have the means, dont get a huge flat or dont produce so many singaporeans then ask for free this and free that, dirt cheap housing that might just be build with dirt cheap materials... then it comes back to low birth rates and foreigners influx. there's only so much a government can pay for. we'll all be lazy bums if they paid for everything right? and unless you want to work in the construction site, dont make so much noise. although seeing a park full of them picnic-ing is kindda daunting. so if i were to vote... ...i hope to see a few of the MPs back in parliament, i hope to see that group dressed in white making their entrance at the NDP. sure, there are many things i do not know about the different parties...but this is just my layman views and how i would vote. so sue me. happy polling day! (i have to go to work. so much for a public holiday and being a free bird.) Labels: thinkthinkthink said my piece at 1:01 am
